In 2012, Alexis C. Haynes and Minister Ronnie Paschal, “affectionately known as the Sons of Thunder”, organized and conducted 40 days of consecutive prayer services at Connect Point Christian Center in Snellville, Georgia. Over the course of the first 40 days of consecutive prayer, it became obvious that the prayer meetings were successful. The parents of Pastor Alexis, observed the growth and suggested that there was a need to conduct prayer meetings in Atlanta, Georgia. They suggested the use of their business, Puddins Little World Academy, where prayer would be held each Monday evening in one of the classrooms after business hours. On July 16, 2012, the first prayer service began with 17 participants and over the course of six weeks, attendance grew to 72. Due to growth, there became a need for a larger space and Pastor Alexis’s parents offered the use of the daycare center’s basement as an expansion option. That area was being used for storage and required clearing and refurbishing. A small group of supporters worked vigorously for four consecutive days to transform the basement into a sanctuary. In September of 2012, Minister Alexis C. Haynes accepted his calling to pastor and The Power of Healing & Deliverance Ministries was born. Services officially began in October of 2012 with 44 members. To date, the Power of Healing & Deliverance Ministries has 164 faithful members, and 400 visitors, with 51 worshipers receiving the Holy Ghost, and with 71 worshipers being baptized in the name of Jesus.
Since its inception, PHD has launched launched Thanksgiving Celebrations which fed over 200 people, New Year’s Eve Celebrations, which served over 150 people, a Back-2-School Drive that provided 72 backpacks for students from elementary to college age. We continue to host successful seminars and conferences for our church and the community-at-large, revivals, dinner celebrations, youth events, prayer services, extended days of consecutive prayer, group prayer, and a youth bible study for teens and young women. The Church continues to maintain a vibrant weekly worship service with wide and consistent participation. PHD appeals to a broader cross-section of worshipers, since incorporating various ministries. Outreach to the community remains a priority, with this year’s development of the “Free” Prayer Tent and hotline for prayer. Establishing new relationships with other local ministries and continuing to be available to all seeking refuge through Jesus Christ is ongoing.
